Everything Can Change (In A Port-Au-Prince Minute)

It's amazing how quickly the eyes of the (western) world can change from the frivolous woes of millionaire celebrities to real human tragedy. When I logged in to twitter last night the most popular topic was Haiti. The day before, and even earlier on the same day (Tuesday), Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno, and Mark McGwire had been high on the list. It is very impressive to me how quickly we can all be informed of an important event. I'm saying all of this very poorly, but I think you know what I mean.
